Highest Tournament Break 147 - 2000 Scottish Masters and 2012 Haikou World Open qualifiers

  • 2 Ranking event wins: 2007 Grand Prix, 2013 Australian Open
  • In 2016, Fu reached the semi-final stage of the World Championship for the second time in his career. The player from Hong Kong led 9-1 in his quarter final match, before opponent Barry Hawkins mounted an incredible fightback to trail by just one frame at 12-11. Fu held his nerve to stave off the comeback and book a semi-final spot against Mark Selby, where he succumbed to an agonising 17-15 defeat.
  • He claimed silverware at the 2015 Gibraltar Open, beating Michael White 4-1 in the final.
  • The 2014/15 season was a poor one by Fu’s high standards as he failed to reach the semi-finals of any ranking event. However, he did enjoy a magic moment at the Masters as he made a 147, becoming only the third player in the history of the event to score a maximum.
  • Fu enjoyed a great campaign in 2013/14. He claimed the second ranking title of his career at the 2013 Australian Open, seeing off the likes of Ken Doherty and Shaun Murphy, before a 9-6 win over home favourite Neil Robertson gave him the crown. He also reached the final of the International Championship in China, where he was edged out in a 10-9 thriller against Ding Junhui.
  • In 2011, Fu reached the final of snooker’s most prestigious invitational tournament, the Masters. Once again up against Ding Junhui, in what was the first ever major final between two Asian players, Fu ended up losing 10-4.
  • He clinched his first ever ranking event at the 2007 Grand Prix in Aberdeen, playing some of the finest snooker of his career in a 9-6 victory over Ronnie O’Sullivan in the final.
  • At the 2006 World Championship, the man from Happy Valley knocked out Alan McManus, Stephen Maguire and Ken Doherty to reach the semi-finals. He then came from 15-9 down to 16-16 against Peter Ebdon only to lose out to a nerveless break of 54 which helped Ebdon over the line.
  • Fu also won the Premier League in 2003, beating Mark Williams in the final.
  • The jet-setting Manchester United fan was educated in Vancouver and has had spells living in Wales and Scotland. He now stays in London with his wife Shirley.
