Un Nooh enjoyed the best season of his career in 2015/16 as he reached the semi-finals of the 2015 International Championships and the quarter-finals of the World Grand Prix.
The Thai spurned two golden opportunities to make maximum breaks in the season. He missed a final black off the spot against Neil Robertson in his last 32 match at the 2015 UK Championships and devastatingly missed another against Anthony McGill in the final qualifying round for the 2016 World Championships.
He appeared on Channel 4’s TFI Friday to recreate the shot after the UK Championships which cost him £44,000.
Un Nooh reached the semi-finals of a full ranking event for the first time at the 2015 Indian Open. He won six matches, beating the likes of Ding Junhui and Mark Davis before spurning a 3-0 lead in the semi-final against Ricky Walden to go out 4-3.
He established himself as one of Asia’s most promising players when he won the IBSF World Championship in 2008, beating Colm Gilcreest 11-7 in the final.
During the season he lives in Sheffield with other Thai players such as James Wattana and Dechawat Poomjaeng.
