Woollaston reached the quarter-finals or beyond in five events during 2015/16 season. He won four matches in a run which included a 4-1 defeat of Martin Gould to reach the last eight of the 2016 Welsh Open.
Woollaston began his 2015/16 campaign with an impressive showing at the Riga Open, where he beat the likes of Ricky Walden and Mark Williams before losing out to Tom Ford in the semi-finals.
The highlight of Woolaston’s career came at the 2015 Welsh Open where he reached his first full ranking event final. He knocked out six players in Cardiff, including Mark Davis, Mark Allen, Ali Carter and home favourite Mark Williams. However, the final proved to be a one sided affair as he lost 9-3 to John Higgins.
He made the first 147 break of his career at the 2015 Lisbon Open.
The Leicester potter qualified for the final stages of the 2013 World Championships, beating Ryan Day 10-9 in the final round. He was defeated 10-4 by Ali Carter on his Crucible debut.
In 2011 at PTC event three in Sheffield, Woolaston beat the likes of Ken Doherty and Alan McManus to reach the final, where he saw off Graeme Dott 4-2 to win his maiden professional title.
Woollaston married Tatiana, a referee from Belarus, in her home town of Minsk in 2011. A year later they enjoyed the birth of their first baby, a boy called Edward.
