Lines got his 2015/16 season off to a solid start, reaching the last 16 of the 2015 Riga Open where he was beaten by Liang Wenbo.
He didn’t reach the last 16 stage again after that in what proved to be a frustrating season.
Lines earned the World Snooker Rookie of the Year award after an excellent debut season on the pro tour in 2014/15
He enjoyed a superb run to the final of the Haining Open Asian Tour event in China, winning six matches before losing 4-0 to Stuart Bingham.
He also qualified for the 2014 International Championship thanks to winning six frames in a row, to beat Mark Selby 6-4.
Lines earned a place on the World Snooker Tour by winning the 2014 European Under-21 Championship. He beat Josh Boileau 6-1 in the final in Bucharest.
Oliver’s dad Peter had been a professional since 1991 until he dropped off the tour at the end of the 2015/16 season. They were the first father and son duo on the pro tour since Geoff and Neal Foulds.
