Tian reached the final of the 2015 Ruhr Open in a run which included an impressive 4-1 victory over 2005 World Champion Shaun Murphy. He was denied the trophy after a 4-2 defeat against Rory McLeod.
His best run of the 2014/15 season took him to the last 16 of the 2015 Indian Open, where he won three matches before losing to Ricky Walden.
Tian also reached the quarter finals of the Paul Hunter Classic in Germany beating Ronnie O’Sullivan 4-2 in the last 16 before losing to Judd Trump.
He was relegated from the main tour after the 2013/14 season, but bounced straight back via Q School, beating Eden Sharav 4-0 in the final round of event one.
Tian earned his debut on the tour at Q School in 2011. Beating Dave Gilbert in the final round of event two.
He was a wildcard at the 2010 China Open and beat Ronnie O’Sullivan 5-3 in the last 32.
