1 Ranking event win: 2015 Shanghai Masters

He reached the first Triple Crown final of his career at the 2018 Masters. It was a run which included an epic fightback from 5-2 down to defeat Judd Trump 6-5 in the semi-finals. However, Mark Allen proved to be too strong for Wilson in the final, coming out a 10-7 winner.

Wilson was victorious at the 2017 World Games in Wroclaw.  He saw off Ali Carter in the final 3-1 to ensure he claimed gold.

The Warrior reached his second career ranking final in 2016/17 at the Indian Open. He faced fellow young star Anthony McGill, but unfortunately for Wilson it was the Scot who came through a 5-2 victor. There were also semi-final appearances at the Northern Ireland Open and China Open, before he went on a run to his second consecutive World Championship quarter-final at the Crucible.

Wilson had the best season of his career so far in 2015/16. He sensationally claimed his first ranking event title at the 2015 Shanghai Masters. The ‘Warrior’ won eight matches, including defeats of Joe Perry, Mark Allen and Ding Junhui to earn a place in the final against Judd Trump.  Wilson clinched the crown with a stunning 10-9 win.

He also made three further semi-final appearances at the Champion of Champions, German Masters and Gdynia Open, before a great run at the 2016 World Championships.

Wilson came through three qualifying matches to face Joe Perry at the Crucible, where he won a nip and tuck match 10-9. He then scored a 13-9 win over Mark Allen before bowing out at the hands of eventual winner Mark Selby.

His best ranking event run in 2014/15 came at the Indian Open as he won three matches to reach the last 16 before losing 4-3 to Joe Perry. He also progressed to the semi-finals of the one-frame Shoot-Out where Michael White ended his hopes.

In 2014, the young potter from Northamptonshire qualified for the final stages of the World Championship for the first time. He then put up a real fight against Ricky Walden on his Crucible debut, but lost 10-7.

Wilson reached the quarter-finals of the 2013 Shanghai Masters as he won six matches, beating the likes of Stuart Bingham and Marco Fu, before being denied a semi-final place by Michael Holt.

In 2009, on his 18th birthday, he took part in a sky-dive from 13,000 feet to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis Therapy.
